winter show
the scoop
winter show + monarch
a slower pace, cozy pieces, and a very monarch kind of show.
winter show has always felt different to me. it’s more like a fun little reunion than a full-on summer camp situation. the pace is slower, people linger a bit longer, and everything feels a lot more relaxed.
that’s probably why i like it so much. there aren’t events stacked on top of events making your head spin, and i get more time to actually talk with customers, friends, and familiar faces. it feels easier. calmer. more enjoyable.
this winter show looks a little different for me, too. we closed on our house less than a month before the show, we’re still very much unpacking, and i’m definitely not as prepared as i usually am. instead of letting that stress me out, i’m just rolling with it. no big expectations, no overthinking, just showing up and seeing what happens.
for monarch, winter show feels more like a showcase than anything else. i don’t put the same pressure on it that i do other shows. this year especially, i’m doing a big warehouse sale and using it as a bit of a reset. i want to clear space, start the year fresh, and make room for what’s next. with the rebrand happening too, it all kind of lined up naturally.
as for what i’m drawn to this time of year… cozy everything. when it’s cold outside, i truly don’t want to do much. i’m like a lizard. i need the sun. athleisure, big t-shirts, oversized sweaters, and cardigans always call my name. and honestly, so does the couch.
winter show inspires me in simple ways. the slower pace, the conversations, the chance to notice details you might miss during busier shows. it’s a good reminder of why i love doing this.
this year, monarch will look a little different at winter show because of the warehouse sale. i’m not bringing in a huge influx of new product, but i am bringing a ton of really good deals. a lot of what will be in the booth isn’t online, and during busier shows i don’t usually have sale pieces out. it’s a great chance to snag things you’d normally pay full price for.
i’m also really excited to have JordanLovesJames jewelry in the booth this show. she’ll be set up with her charm bar, which is such a fun addition and makes the space feel even more special.
things i always tell friends
thursday and friday are my favorite days to go because it’s even less crowded and easier to take your time. if you can, get out there early and have a loose plan. skim vendor directories, pick a few places you want to hit first, and go from there.
also, never walk away from something you love thinking you’ll come back for it. you won’t. it will sell. you’ll think about it forever. and please don’t wear uncomfortable shoes.
winter show is special to me because it’s just a really fun long weekend. if it were your first time coming to round top, this would absolutely be the show i’d start with to get a feel for everything.
if you’re around during winter show, come say hi. monarch is just one small part of the whole experience, but i’d love to see you, catch up, and shop together.
